Kennedy began his career as a professional photographer in sports: shooting pictures of football and soccer games for newspapers and then advancing to the more complicated techniques of surf photography.
During the 1990’s, Kennedy became interested in fashion and political photography. By 2003, Kennedy had established himself as a noted fashion photographer, shooting for modeling agencies, advertising campaigns, and various publications. He has printed post cards, a calendar and modeling composite cards of his work. In addition, in 2003 Kennedy wrote a book on homeless youth with 100 pictures of his subjects.
